TAME

TAME stands for Teenage Alcohol Marijuana Education.

TAME began in 2019. Sheriff Richie Simmons felt a strong need along with a cooperative effort between Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, Davidson County Health Department, Davidson County Family Services, Judge Mary Covington, Assistant District Attorney Rob Taylor, and Local Community Leaders to give an in-depth and hands-on experience so students can better understand the effects of Alcohol and Marijuana on their still-developing bodies.  In addition to Alcohol and Marijuana students also learn about Drugs, Social Media dangers, Cyberbullying, Domestic Violence, Student Relationships, and Coping Skills.

TAME is taught to 7th graders at every Middle School in Davidson County.  It is taught one Friday each month for 7 months.
