Requirements for Concealed Handgun Permits (Renewal)

MONDAY TO FRIDAY 8 A.M. - 4 P.M.

 BY APPOINTMENT ONLY (EXCLUDING HOLIDAYS)

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:

• Must apply in person

• ·Must sign a mental background check

• Must be 21 years of age or older

• Must be eligible to own, possess, or receive a firearm under State or Federal Law

• Must be a resident of Davidson County

• Must pass a criminal history background check

• Must provide current/valid identification (North Carolina driver’s license or North Carolina identification card)

• Must provide proof of legal residency, if not a US Citizen

Applicants can renew up to 90 calendar days before the expiration date.

Cost: $75.00 cash only

The state grants a 60-day grace period after your permit expires, you will be required to submit a new set of fingerprints and the cost will be $90 cash only.

** Do not sign the application upon completion. All applications must be signed at the Sheriff's Office with Personnel.
